Right now, my weekends are filled to the brim (if Corona allows it though). Festivals, parties, events, … they follow each other in rapid succession and I try to get myself and my DJs from one place to the next as fast as possible.
TOUR & EVENTs
We’re a couple years, several hundreds of shows, and at least a couple hundred thousand spectators down the line, which means that I get to say I have built up my experience. I’m proud of the knowledge I gained of my craft, because it’s first-hand, hands-on, boots on the ground knowledge. I get to experience everything from a privileged position, right from row zero as a tour manager for both Mark With a K and Ronny Retro. When Mark played the mainstage of Tomorrowland (and props to him, he played it to shreds), I was the guy who was standing right behind him, providing support, managing socials and giving shape to the entire show together with the team. With different events, I have different roles. At some events, like Sunset Festival, I’m involved in the logistical side of it during set-up and breakdown of the different stages. And through my experience in tour management, I, unwittingly, rolled into event management. Rather, because I quickly understood how things worked, I quickly understood where things could go wrong and I saw where my support was necessary.
Tours and festivals are my occupation during the weekend, but during the week I do have time to support, organize and shape company events, exhibitions, displays and other events. When it comes to giant venues and big crowds, I’m completely in my element, but my expertise can nonetheless be very useful for small or intimate parties.
