print preparation and orthomosaics
For Sunrise Festival 2024, my role shifted from gatekeeping to DTP and print preparation. I also processed drone images into orthomosaics to document the changing build.
The challenge
Print files, deliveries and last-minute changes ran alongside a site that changed every day. The challenge was not simply handling a large volume of work, but keeping visual production and current site information connected.
Our approach
I prepared banners and other applications for production in Illustrator and InDesign and tracked files, orders and deliveries in Smartsheet. Designs were placed on SketchUp structures to check scale and position visually. I also made functional LED content and processed drone images in Metashape into operational orthomosaics.
The result
The production team could discuss the build more easily while retaining control over a large amount of visual material. The edition showed that mapping and DTP could strengthen the same production process rather than remain separate activities.
