The Qontinent 2023
gatekeeping and machinery on a constrained site
At The Qontinent 2023, I combined off-site gatekeeping with machine planning and key management. I also created a manually stitched aerial mosaic of the build. Limited space required controlled supplier access, coordination of shared equipment and a readable site overview.
The challenge
When too many suppliers entered at once, transport and crews blocked each other. Telehandlers, access platforms and utility vehicles also had to reach the right supplier at the right time.
Our approach
I admitted suppliers from an off-site waiting area in a controlled sequence. Using a central plan, I tracked machinery and keys and reviewed the next workday each evening. Equipment was positioned in the right zone in advance whenever possible.
For the visual mapping, I manually combined several drone photographs using Photoshop Photomerge. The mosaic records the site during the build but is not georeferenced. It is a visual overview, not a survey-verified orthophoto or a basis for precise measurements.
The result
The site remained more accessible and suppliers lost less time waiting or searching. The aerial mosaic also recorded a build-stage snapshot in one coherent overview. The project shows how site flow and visual documentation can complement each other without presenting the mosaic as a metric survey.
