Sunset Festival 2021
where production and creativity met
During Sunset Festival 2021, my gatekeeping assignment grew to include access management, on-site presence, graphic support and drone photography. Those two festival weekends marked the start of my collaboration with Dare 2 Dream.
The challenge
The pandemic made access and planning unusually sensitive. The organisation needed someone who could guide suppliers independently and also recognise where creative or practical support would reduce pressure on the core team.
Our approach
I was the first point of contact at the entrance and guided suppliers to the correct zone. I used quieter moments for graphic work: stage hosting graphics, templates for the festival's social media and templates the DJs could use themselves. Because it remained uncertain for a long time whether the festival could go ahead, I helped record short info clips with artists from the line-up. Together with production, I checked printed material for colour and quality. Aerial photographs supplemented communication.
The result
What started as access control developed into a flexible role that supported the team in several places. That combination of practical action and visual thinking later became the basis of my current approach.
